141 Reusable Judo Tatamis Donation to PAKISTAN
A set of 141 reusable tatamis out of 950 donated by Shunan City in Yamaguchi Prefecture has been shipped to Pakistan in cooperation with the shipping company Nippon Yusen Kabushiki Kaisha in November 2016. The handover ceremony of the tatamis was held in Islamabad on 18th February 2017. Being the final competition day of All Pakistan Judo Championships, it had been performed together with the medal ceremony in front of participated Judokas and crowds. Japanese Ambassador to Pakistan, Mr. Takashi KURAI handed the tatamis to President of Pakistan Judo Federation, Mr. Junaid ALAM.
2017 will mark the 65th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Japan and Pakistan. We wish our bonds between two countries further deepen through our Judo activities.
